Hope for the Holidays

Saturday, November 11, 8:30-11:30am at Southminster.

Often after a loss, the first holiday season can bring on a great deal of stress, anxiety, depression, anger, and sadness. To help those who are facing their first holiday as a loss survivor, Southminster welcomes Community Grief Support (CGS) to offer a free “Hope for the Holidays” community workshop on November 11. If you or someone you know is grieving the loss of a loved one as we face the 2023 holiday season, please join us at this helpful, informative, and encouraging community event. The workshop will include a panel of loss survivors who will share how they have and continue to deal with holiday grief related to spousal loss, loss of adult child, and parental loss. Bereavement care expert and counselor, Steve Sweatt, LPC/LMFT and clinical director at CGS will provide helpful tips on coping with holidays. A continental breakfast will be offered.

If you cannot attend on November 11, CGS will also offer the Hope for the Holidays program at Guiding Light church in Irondale on November 4 and online on November 18. For more information, contact Pastor Leanne Pearce Reed at leanne@southminsterpcusa.org.
