"Welcome one another, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God." ~Romans 15:7
In the ministry and the mission of the church we seek to reflect the welcoming grace of Jesus Christ our Lord, Head of the Church. Our congregation of approximately 500 members is a part of the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley, the Synod of Living Waters, and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In connection with the larger church we seek to proclaim the gospel in word and deed in our community and throughout the world. In the life of Southminster, may you experience the welcoming grace of Jesus Christ.
LENT is a season of forty days and six Sundays, beginning on Ash Wednesday, and culminating in Holy Week. During this season, the church, in joy and sorrow, proclaims, remembers, and responds to the atoning death of Christ. The liturgical color is purple, reminding us of our Lord's deep passion and love for all people. The word of praise, "alleluia", is not said or sung during Lent, but will be resurrected on Easter Day.
