PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

The purpose of Presbyterian Women is to “nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church, (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.”

Mission is our focus – we actively participate in various PW mission ministries as well as special mission projects of our congregation.  Examples include preparing Health and School Kits when requested; donating budgeted and personal funds to the Presbyterian Home for Children, local shelters, our missionaries and seminary; and participating in our denominational PW Thank and Birthday Offerings.

Southminster’s three morning Circles meet at 10:00 a.m. on second Tuesday’s, September through May.  Circles 1 and 2 meet at the church; Circle 3 generally meets in members’ homes.  (We hope to re-establish an Evening Circle.)   We are reading the Horizon’s 2016-2017Bible study: “Who is Jesus?  What a Difference a Lens Makes,” by Judy Yates Siker.   We invite all Southminster women to enjoy our annual luncheon, held on a March Sunday following worship.

For additional Circle information contact:  Circle 1 – Chair: Barbara Sansom, Circle 2 – Chair: Yvonne Kirkland; Circle 3 – Chair: Janet Nebrig; Evening Circle interest: Marlee Jacobs.
